<Students and teachers of Rajuk Uttara Model College (RUMC) protested today, demanding an end to the lottery-based admission system and a return to merit-based admission tests.
The campus rang with chants like
“Shikkha na Jua, Shikkha Shikkha,”
“1, 2, 3, 4 — Lottery System No More,” and
“Sujoger Banijjo, Mani Na, Mani Na.”
Placards carried strong messages like “Respect Talent, Reward Merit,” calling for a system that values hard work and real capability.
Teachers also stood in solidarity, saying education should value merit, not luck.
